Every time she bakes, she sends me a picture of the finished product and I get inspired to turn on my cake oven too. My initial baking lessons were from my mom many many years back and after that I never got the time or enthusiasm to actually bake. But after I got to know my friend Hemlata a few years back, my renewed interest in baking took a serious turn. During the pandemic and lockdown, baking worked as a therapy for me.
Hemlata is an innovative baker and possesses that zeal to learn more intricate details of baking and also has the patience to put them to good use. Her cakes, cookies and brownies are a hit in Hubli(Karnataka), where she is based. She bakes for every occasion, be it a chocolate cake to welcome me to to Hubli last August, or the rum cake which made her dearest pet puppy Coco high and drowsy, after he stealthily stole mouthfuls of the rum cake when she was not looking. Her hubby is equally proud of her bakes and sends me pictures of his birthday cakes baked by her-raspberry cake, chocolate brownies and many more. Not to forget this chocolate almond flavored twin cakes to congratulate a friend-couple on the birth of their twins. The meaning of twins is so perfectly displayed here . Well done, my friend ! Meanwhile let me too bake on and also learn a few tricks from her....
